Wheeler Advice

Heyas all 'round. It's been some time since I fished Wheeler later in the year, and by later I mean anything later than July. I think the last time I fished it in October would be 12 years ago.

I've got a tournament there in October, and am looking for some general direction as to what you think might be occurring. Like I said, I've fished it before and done reasonably well in the 4th quarter of the year. We tended to fish transitional areas and found a lot of fish in creeks, using flats in the feeders; not chasing schooling fish, but catching fish that were on schooled baitfish as they moved through. We also hit one extraordinary day fishing deep ledges and bluffs on the lower lake, catching mostly brown fish, but big ones.

Anyhow, thought I'd throw out there and see if anyone had some general advice on it.

Thanks in advance.
