Strike King Bitsy Bug

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the Strike King Bitsy Bug jig? I saw them at BPS and they were very cheap.

I use them for smallies in rivers.  They work great for fishing heavy jambs on the rivers.  Use a Zoom tiny chunk or a tiny pacu trailer.

Reminds me I need to pick some up. Thanks.

They are a great jigs, just watch out on the real small sizes because their hooks are small as well.  I feel they have poor hook up ratios on large bass.  I can't remember but I think they make a 1/4 oz and maybe a 3/16 oz?  If so, those were OK hook sizes but I know for sure the 1/16th oz I've had trouble on larger fish with.

I got the Bitsy Bug in the watermelon color, I put a watermelon/chartreuse tail zoom little critter craw on as a trailer (trimmed it a little bit shorter). I have caught many fish using it in heavy wood cover.

Also, you could try the Booyah baby boo jig, same price. They make them with heavier jig head and bigger hooks, but about the same size skirt.

Leave the Bitsy Bug on the rack and get the Bitsy Flip.

Or the Booyah Baby Boo (I think) I have broke too many hooks on the Bitsy Bugs, cost me a tournament one time had 2 hooks break in one day. Went home and threw them all away, never tried the Bitsy Flip
