organizing plastics and spinnerbaits?

Featured Replies

reading the thread below made me wonder how you all organized your plastics? Do you shove them into Plano 3700s or the like, or do you put them into binders, or something else? Also with spinnerbaits what do you guys do to organize them. The Plano 3700s are too shallow, and the deep box ones are just bulky and hard to fit into a bag. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a tackle box for just my plastics. I use big zip-loc bags and organize them by style, size and color. For example, all 8" curly tail Red Shad worms in one bag etc. I use Falcon Spinnerbait boxes and they are perfect!

I use Falcon spinnerbait boxes.

My soft plastics are kept in small tub type boxes with lids.

-Worms (less than 10", 10"+, straight tails)

-Lizards

-Creatures

-Trick Sticks

-Craws

-Trailers

I know a good idea when I see it.   ;)

I bought a scrap booking organizer at Walmart, and it has small compartments that I classify into lizards, worms, etc.  Before each trip, I just pull a few bags of each, and that's it.  This organizer has a great handle, and is pretty cool.  If I fill it up, I know I have way too many plastics.

Same exact boxes too!  ;D  Now if you put some thin weatherstripping around the rims of the boxes, you'll be officially waterproof.

Dang! A whole weekend? How many boxes you got?  ;)

Anyway, the boxes Burley showed pics of is the ones I use. They fit nice and tight in the boat and I can grab whichever one I need really quick. Rummaging through the individual boxes trying to find that one special bag gets a little out of control at times but this is the best way I've found to keep everything organized.

I use the tackle binders they have at BPS for plastics and for spinners.  Comes with 10 or so zip lock bags with ring holes to fit into a binder with a velcro strap.  I label the ziplock bags and such with color, type, and product # for re ordering.  I then have a binder that I organizer the spinners into and label the same.  Only downfall I've found with the binder is the velcro is to low to have a tight strap unless you have 20+ pages in the binder (binder can fit quite a few, and you can buy just the ziplock pages)

I use the Falcon spinner bait box for all of my spinner baits and I use the BPS double binders for all of my plastics.  I leave them in their original packages and then just drop them in the ziplock bags in the binders.

Later, ;)

All my spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and chatterbaits are in a tackle binder. My plastics are kept, in Plano 3600's according to type of bait.
