Anyone using these? I ordered one last week and finally got to use mine today (ghost minnow color), and was VERY impressed with the balance of this bait.

Started off cranking along a break between 4-6 feet of water and hooked into a nice fish in the 5-6 lb range. Played the fish good, keeping the rod down in the water but it still managed to jump and got off. Several casts later lost it on a submerged snag. At $15.00 a piece, I almost went swimming after it (5-6ft of water). I may go back tomorrow with a rope and grappling hook to see if I can get that snag up. ;)

You need to invest in a lure retriever.  Might save you a few bucks (unless your fishing from the bank).  I use a telescoping pole that extends out to 18'.  It's already paid for itself in the lures I have shaken free.

I, too carry a telescoping pole (12' golf ball retriever) but the lure broke off before I could get to the area of the snag. I know pretty much where it's at but am leary of wading through there to get it.

I'll end up just ordering another one and tell the wife they must have filled the order twice.  8-)

I bought some SKT mini's last fall and soon after dubbed them "the official dink catchers". Haven't caught anything decent with them yet.

I like the action though and they are obviously high quality cranks.

I will agree with the munster, dink catchers for sure.  I was using a craw colored on at kentucky lake for the college series and caught like 6 on that crankbait.  I think the biggest one was 12 inches, atleast I caught something on it.  Those were probably the first fish I had caught on a crankbait in several years, I can't stand throwing them.

;D I was thinkin of you when I saw this thread.

Looks like a good bait. Seems to have a good action.

I guess I must have drug that lure right by that 5 lber's face.  ;)

Any suggestions for a LC crank that will weed out some of the dinks?

I like most of the Lucky Craft RC line of baits....the 1.5 in particular and the 2.5DD. I also use the CBD-12's and CBD-20's on a very regular basis. Might want to get a good lure retriever if you start throwing those LC deep divers very often. ;)

If you're looking for something with a TON of rattles, try a CB200. Its a lipped bait with more rattle than a lipless. Excellent bait in dirty water.

But....if you can catch 5's on a SKT Mini, go for it. I'd keep throwing those. I just haven't had much luck catching keepers with them.

Thanks man. That 5 was the biggest I've had hooked on ANY crank let alone the dink slayer.

I hate ordering just one of something for this very reason but to keep the peace at home, I keep the bait monkey on a VERY lean diet.

I was looking at some of their other baits like the Moonsault. That's a little bit bigger and staying in the Shallow-Medium running like I want to. I love that Ghost Minnow color.

Again,

Thanks.
