Top Water And Cold Fronts

Featured Replies

ok, im going fishing this sunday and there is supposed to be a solid cold front move through friday.

a few days ago i was smoking them on top water, will this work after the front or am i wasting my time?

Let the fish tell you, usually a cold front means they are less active for a bit. But I always have a Spro tied on.

There are always exceptions to every rule but generally speaking, no,it's not your best bet. As someone (I can't remember who) recently said, don't fish your memories. Fish in the present.

As has been said, topwater isn't your best bet after a cold front, but if it were me I wouldn't rule them out. You can never predict in advance how fish will react. I fish a lot of topwater and those baits have caught too many fish under bluebird skies for me to rule them out at any time.
