Frog Vs Rat

Featured Replies

i just recently got a snag proof series topwater mouse and well ive fished a lot of hollow body and soft plastic frogs with great success and i was wondering if i should have a different presentation with the mouse or present it as i do with the frog which is small retrieves stop twitch let it sit for 30 seconds or a slow retireve with a pop from pulling my rod tip (those 2 presentations have had my frog blown up by a lot of bass)

Its all about presentation. When fishing with a frog a bass will look at it and kill it cause it looks good and edible but when fishing with rats I there is a lot more action which rest gets the bass's attention. I like to swim my rats fast and I have great success. I have found the more noise the rat makes the bigger and better hits you'll get. Both produce good fish but if you fish it right and find a food pattern then the rat can be a definite winner.
