I am looking to add some new rod/reel combinations to my bass fishing arsenal and was wondering if prices typically drop in the late fall, winter time? Being as that is the "off season" most sporting good stores mark down prices on there stock of lures and rods/reels, do websites also typically drop there prices on this stuff? Also, it seems many big producers of reels and rods introduce there new lines in the fall or winter, so then older or some discontinued models may go down in price? Didn't want to fork out a good chunk of change on new equipment if the prices were likely to go down in a month or two!!

Actually the prices are down right now at alot of places due to the new items coming out and getting ready to hit the stores. Tackle Warehouse was clearing out last years models on rods and reels now and check their site. BPS and Cabelas are doing some of the same clearance sales. The Cabelas XMLTi rods are normally $200 but were on sale for $119. The St.Croix LTB rods were on sale also at Cabelas and I believe at TW as well. The Shimano Citica and Curado were both being cleared out at Dick's and TW as well at really reduced prices.

Now would be the time to pick up a deal on a good combo.

Ya I noticed all of those sites had a bunch on sale...especially rods. I didn't know if it was due to new lines being released in the near future or what. I ordered a Shimano Compre off of Fishermans Chocie Pro Shop that was marked down last week and it is supposed to be delivered today. I seriously spend 2-4 hours at night before I go to sleep scouring websites (probably 75% or more of that time is spent on the websites you listed, along with gander mountain) and there are SOOOOOOO many different ones on sale to choose from its insane! Then when I see one in my price point I go to other websites to read reviews on it and it seems like I get no where! But I will definitely check out the ones you mentioned. Thanks!

I heard from a little birdie that *** is having a Black Friday sale and most things will be 25% off!! Idk if it's true or not but it's worth waiting for IMO!
