Trolling Motor Question

Featured Replies

I just got the minn kota edge 55 12V. I had to end up getting a new receptacle instead of a few other options I was going to try. when I asked the marine dealer to get me a receptacle for it, he gave me one with 4 prong holes (so my male end on the trolling would have 4 prongs). The question I wanted to ask is do I need the 4 prong or do I need something else, like a 2 prong or 3 prong. I'm running the receptacle straight to the battery with an in-line circuit breaker. (It's only one battery also, no series or parallel), hope this is enough information.

I use and recommend the Anderson SB50 connectors. They are about as good as you can get and very affordable.

Check the amp rating on that connector, I seriously doubt it's 50 amps and 50 amps is the minimum size connector you want to use.

There are a number you can get, but you will pay a hellava lot more and some are not as good and very few are better, if any.
