Minn Kota Fortrex Trolling Motor Question

Featured Replies

I have a fortrex that the pointer arrow quit working. Took it apart and a tooth was broken off the part that fits into the arrow. Put a new one in and dropped the trolling motor in the water the first time and hit the switch once and the new one broke. Any idea what might be causing this? Is there another part that may need replacing to fix the problem? Or is it just my dumb luck that I broke two on back to back days?

Thank you for any help or ideas!

I'm sitting here looking at the parts diagram that came with mine. I don't see anything that would cause the issue. What I can tell you is this is the first I've heard of the problem. I've had mine two years. I would call Minn Kota Technical Services at 800.227.6433. Let us know what you find. Good luck.

Thank you K_Mac! I just got off the phone with Minn Kota and they are sending me out 2 replacements at no cost.

I appreciate the information and the help! Guess I will figure out more when I get these and put one on. They could see no reason why they keep breaking.

glad to hear that they helped you out. I have an 80lb fortex and for the price they should replace just about most parts lol
