Has anybody tried these? I have been fishing deep cranks in standing timber lately and I am catching a lot of fish but also loosing a lot of lures. I am curious if the ring should be lighter than the line (ex. 10lb ring with 12lb line) or if it should be the same rating.

Do you have a telescoping retrieval pole?   Your money would be well spent here.  

I do have a telescopic pole and and lure retriever on a string but the pole is only 16ft and the string one usually doesn't work. I didn't mind too much until I lost my favorite LC D20 today. It's embarrassing to cry with a co-angler in the boat.
