The Skeet mini DR is a good bait...it should handle your medium depth needs just fine.  FYI....it gets down to about 7ft for me with 12lb Trilene fluoro.  I don't own a Slim Shad....I'm not excited about it to be honest.  I don't throw a lot of shad rap type cranks.  

the flat mini dr has been one of my go-to's the past few years...if memory serves, the skeet's come thru timber a tad better than the regular flat mini's.

have only fished the slim shad (d9) since this year...my best days with it have come post-spawn on clear-water river systems...there were days it was the only bait they would hit.

thanks for sharing the info guys. i am excited to see if they work as well for me. They do seem to be well made, I just want the fish to agree.
