Does anyone know if there are Smallmouth bass in Virginia ponds? I've always wondered since there are smallmouth in SML and other large bodies of water. I would think they would be in ponds but I'm not sure.

    For the most part the answer is no.

    Smallmouth like running water and ponds do not have the current they enjoy.

    Of course, some fishermen may have placed some smallmouth in ponds but usually you find largemouths in ponds.

    If anyone out there knows of any ponds with smallies please let us know.
