I just returned from a year long deployment to afghanistan and am looking to buy my first boat. I have been looking on craigslist, but I was wondering if anyone had additional sites, tips for searching for used boats (besides the obvious ebay, classifieds, etc.) Thanks for your help!!!

Go to the nearest shop or shops that specialize in fishing boats. Start looking now because those with new boats on order will be wanting to unload their old craft. several years ago I bought my first fiberglass bass boat used. It had a 115Merc, MG, TM, a decent trailer and 2 deck mounted flashers. I put a lot of soap. water and elbow grease into that boat. i did some routine maintenance, replaced a prop that threw a cracked blade and sold it 6 years later for what I paid for it. My sale was helped big time by the increase in cost of new boats.
