New To Oklahoma

Featured Replies

I moved to Oklahoma last summer for a job in the energy sector. I'm an IT support person...the guy you call when your mouse stops working...:)

I'm trying to find and gain access to local ponds for bass fishing here in the Edmond\Guthrie area. I know it's not what you know but who you know when it comes to this kind of access. I've fished the local public lakes, etc. with some luck but would like to learn more areas to add to my fishing spots. I'm a bank fisherman, no boat.

I've found, and asked to fish some ponds, but most landowners are reluctant to let you fish them, can't say as I blame them given how people seem to leave trash, not close gates, etc. So I'm looking to make some fishing contacts with those who have access and perhaps gain some introductions to the property owners. Heck I'll even fix their computers for free just to be able to fish...:)

Any insight or help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Don

I can understand. I moved to the Edmond area for a job in Law Enforcement about 4 months ago and have not had much luck. I have hit Guthrie pretty hard. Mainly fishing the north east end of the d**n with a med crank. I have caught a few nothing over 16". Not a bite after 9am though. If there is any wind at all, the day is busted. No boat either
