Weather And Jigs

Featured Replies

Ok so today til friday is reaching highs in the mid to upper 60s and night lows in the 40s...now my question is where will the fish be this time of year with a few days of nice weather like this? im strictly jig fishing to learn it more so im trying to figure out where to start

What are the water temps? I caught my PB (see outings section) yesterday in less than 10 feet of water. Our air temps have been similar to what you mentioned, the water was around 52 degrees yesterday and very muddy. I would say flip it around cover and also try dragging it around some deeper (10-20 feet) ledges/dropoffs. Don't forget to make multiple pitches to the same target and GO SLOW!!!!

not sure. there are two lakes...one drains into the other by a dam and the lake with the dam, by the dam is super deep with structure and channels/drop-offs. if that makes sense. its kind of like a cove in that area. on the banks are laid down trees and some brush piles.

heres a pic of what im talking about. part of the lake on the left is deeper in that cove. that walkway is a dam.

I would start by flippin that jig into the deepest brush/wood I could find. Then drag it around the channels you mentioned.

I would fish any deep water drop offs on the edge of those weeds going into the channel! My number 2 choice would be any other structure you could find!
