Teu life swimbait....HELP!

Featured Replies

I have a Tru Life Bluegill, and can't get it to swim straight unless I reel it real fast. When reeling in slowly, it swims almost on it's side.

Here is the gear I'm using:

7'6" M Falcon Lowrider XG - I'ts the best I can do until I get Familiar with swimbaits.

St. Croix Avid AC200 reel with 12" Yo Zuri Hybrid

I wanted to use the gear I already have; to avoid pleasing the bait monkey, so here is what I have. If anything i have will help, please let me know.

Reels

2 Revo SX's both ratios

1 Revo Stx

1 Revo S

1 Shimano Calcutta 100a

1 Lew's Laser

Rods

7' MHF St. Croix Avid

7' MHF Phenix Crankbait rod

6'10 MHF Falcon Bucoo

7'6"M Falcon Lowrider XG

7 MH Faclon Lorider XG Cranker

Mine will swim on its side a little when reeled too fast. ::( ;D

I can't imagine it having anything to do with your setup.  I think it is just the bait.  Od that it runs true at high speed and not at low speed though, normally it is the other way around as Bassin_Finatic mentioned.

Same here.

I tried it w/o the balls, and with one today. I'm going to try it with both in there tomorrow. I hope it works.

I thought that you wanted to make swimbaits look as if it is a fish just going for a casual swim, or when bass are bedding - raiding a bed.

There are many things you want a swimbait to look like.  From a dead fish just sitting there to a fish that is high tailing it out of town and everything in between.  Hope the bait ends up working for you.

Mine only runs true with both weights, but I am still yet to catch a fish with it.
