Does anyone live around and/or fish Pardee Reservoir? The California state smallmouth record comes from there and I have been trying to top that 9.13 beauty (caught in 2007) with no luck. Any tips, help or advice would be great. Best time of the year for the big ones is Feb/March I think and I will be getting my season pass tomorrow.

I live close enough that I should have fished it by now but havent. I have heard good things about it. It is definetely on my list of places to bring the kayak to this year.

I have not had much luck from my kayak on Pardee except trolling for trout. The best smallmouth/largemouth spots are quite a long ways from the marina. Plus the water is so clear you can't sneak up on them like in a farm pond. I just use the bass boat now.
