Lure

Featured Replies

I found this lure on the bank of the pond i was at tonight. Can anyone tell me how to fish it properly. I am sure its a pretty dumb question but i have never fished one before.

Looks like maybe a J13 Rapala. Thats a good lure. It can be fished steady retrieve fast or slow...try both.

My fav way is throw it out...wait for all the rings in the water to settle completely then give it a slight twitch and sit again a bit....then reel it trying different speeds. You can jerk-pause-jerk-pause it also.

Hope you get the big one !

Don't know if it floats, suspends or sinks. Retrieve it twitches, jerks and pauses...

I threw it out a few times and it was def a floater unless it was being retrieved, i think you are right the bottom of the lure says J-7. I will try the fast, slow and pause thanks

One last question about this bait should i use a direct tie, a rapala loop knot or a swivel/snap? Thanks

Nice score!

I favor the loop knots on Rapalas unless they come with something else...
