Yo-Zuri Hardcore Cobra Line?

Featured Replies

Made a quick run to the tackle shop this afternoon and was in the line section when i noticed a few spools sitting in the bargain bins..they had a line by Yo-Zuri called hardcore/cobra [?] and it said for "bass anglers" or the like printed on top of the packaging?

I tried looking online but only found a company called duel which looked exactly like the same line/packaging without the YZ name on it?

I'm not sure if its a mono,co-po,or another strain of hybrid, which i already love..

Anyone have any experience w/ this line? It was only available in 20# test,so i passed on it,but it was only $3.99 for a filler spool too!!

Looks to be an older line.

I can imagine if Jesus Christ Bass fished, this is the line he would spool on his reels. I've fished a lot of lines, and never felt anything like it. I've always said that there is no perfect line, one that is as limp as Trilene XL, as strong and abrasion resistant as P-line CXX, and stretches less than flourocarbon, but this line appears to do just that. I picked some up while visiting Cabelas earlier today, and it has made my jaw drop. The only drawback is that it only comes in a camouflage green, and flouro might be better if you fish the clearest of waters, but other than that it seems ideal. It appears to be opaque green on the spool, but it is indeed a nice clear moss green. Maybe this is what Japanese lines that cost $30 a filler spool feel like, but it was only $9.95 for 200yds. I honestly can't find a fault in this line, but have yet to test its shock strength or durablity. Anybody heard of it? This stuff makes me want to cast

Yo-Zuri X-Tex CobraFishing Line

Specially formulated to meet the demanding needs of the hardcore bass fisherman, X-Tex Cobra Tournament Bass Line is the culmination of years of research and development. The combination of high-quality nylon, fluorocarbon and space-age X-Tex polymer creates an extremely tough, abrasion-resistant yet flexible line with exceptionally low memory. The high-density construction and low stretch add ultra-high sensitivity and excellent hook-setting power. X-Tex Cobra also has a faster sink rate than normal monofilament and braids, getting your lure down to the strike zone quickly for maximum productivity. The multi-color camouflage blends in with the water and surrounding structure for near invisibility, yet can be readily seen above the water for added perception when a fish barely picks up your lure. 200-yard spool.
