I haven't had a chance to see one in person, but they look almost identical to the discontinued Lucky Craft RC1.5. Has anyone had a chance to toss one of the RTOs yet? Any feedback/comparison on how they stack up against the LCRC1.5? I missed the boat and didn't know the RCs were going to be discoed, and now need to replace a couple...

They are the same except for some minor cosmetic differences. They are for Takahiro Omori (sp?) instead of Rick Clunn who went to Luck E Strike and the baits were so popular that they just made them for a different pro rather than scap them altogether.

Not so. They're a different bait. Weighted different with a slightly different body style. The RTO will not yaw as much as the RC.

I think the RTO is the better replacement, really. The Luck E Strike is a great bait in its own right, too. It's got a lot of the features that rick was looking for initially in the RC series. He'd never liked how wide the bait yawed, and how much roll it had. That's been fixed, to his words, in the RC2 baits. If you're looking for a straight replacement for the RC series, the RTO is likely that. If you're looking for a great squarebill, both all three fit the bill.

For what its worth the smaller Lucky Strikes are much lighter and don't cast as well as the LC's. One of the things I love about lucky craft is their smaller cranks (RC .05, BDS 2) cast better than anyone else's. Got to use the RTO 2.5 for the first time all day friday, had a GREAT day caught alot of fish from the back of the boat fishin behind my buddies bandit who wasnt getting bit.
