Rattlin' Rapala Review

Featured Replies

As you guys may know from my previous posts, I love Rapala and so with that said, here is my in depth review of the famous lipless crankbait.

The Rattlin' Rapala is a sinking sub surface lipless crankbait, and unlike others of its type, it has a front action bearing. Most lipless crankbaits have rattles in the middle and rear of the bait which causes the lure to swim un-naturally. The RNR's rattle being based in the front cause the bait to swim with more a purpose, the nose is heavier than the rear. This swimming action entices bass to chase it more over the imitated baits. What I like about this crank is that the body comes in so many different sizes and colors, which makes it a must have for all bass fishermen. You can use a steady retrieve or the rip-n-stop technique, drop it down around structure or use it around weed beds. I prefer to use it along channels close to shore. The overall durability of this bait is far greater than the other Rapala lures since its made of plastic and not Balsa wood, if you hit it against a pylon it won't break. Hook set varies on the speed you're retrieving however I never have any problem, if you have problems, purchase sure-set treble hooks for the rear hook. Overall this lure is a must have in your fishing arsenal. It works great in all seasons and weather. Highly recommended.
