I recently broke a Veritas rod on consecutive weekends after running across extremely rough water. They broke right above the reel seat and I'm still unsure as to how this could have happened, I'm thinking possibly my trolling motor foot may have landed on them being its not screwed down to the deck.

Anyhow the first rod that I broke I threw it away thinking I must have set my trolling motor down on it rushing between spots or something not even thinking of trying to make a warranty claim. The next weekend while fishing media on verret the same thing happened to another rod shortly after a very rough journey across the lake. At this point Im pretty  and felt like throwing every Abu rod I have (all of them) into the lake.

I email abu customer service and tell them my story on Monday and they promptly respond with instructions on where to send the broken rod and they agree to waive the $10 handling and shipping fee in an email. I send in the one broke rod with a copy of the email and a description of how they broke and even mentioned it could have been my fault. I also sent the receipt for the rod I threw away thinking it was a long shot to get it replaced also but figured what the hell, this was on a Tuesday and I next dayed it through work so they received it on Wed. I get home Friday afternoon(same week) and I have both rods on my door step!

I have had plenty customer service dealings in my life but none as impressive as this. They basically replaced one a rod on my word..very rare IMO. I will not be switching from Abu anytime soon. Figured I would share this as things like this do not happen too often. :thumb up2:

In my experiences with customer service, Pure Fishing is light years ahead of any other company. Fast and much of the time they don't charge.

hard to argue with service like that.
At this time, I am not accepting sponsors.   Feel free to send me samples of your product and I will add you to the list of possible candidates.

I broke a Veritas last spring, April to be exact. The customer service representative was very nice, helpful and reasonable.

However, they claimed they were not able to send a replacement because they were out of stock in the warehouse. The replacement rod was not delivered until late June. Mildly frustrating to say the least.

I have broken 2 Veritas. One my daughter broke in a door, the other trying to horse a snag. Since they were bought at Gander Mtn. I was able to take both in for replacement. No fuss no muss!
