My wife once I left got back on my case for a 2nd dog to keep the Scotty company and to be more of a guard/protective dog. She's hit every breed out there trying to get me to tell her to get one. I never told her no just to really think about what she's asking for 2 kids 2 dogs and our rabbit all by herself no help our boys are soon to be 3(may) and 7 months.
Well tonight she told me she decided on a German Shepard from a close family friend who breeds them. I said ok love get what ever u want I'm not stoping you just take care of it. Well she then replied with well I already got it lol.
She's adopting a 8mo old GSD with "pano" for $200. The dog comes from German bloodlines idk exactly I just know this lady usually gets over g for her pups and the parents come from Germany an only take German comands. I did some research this pano is just growing pains I guess inflammation of bones and try usually grow out of it.
She goes Thursday to meet him and make sure he gets along with the kids and little dog. The breeder has kids the same age as us and a Pomeranian so the small dog and children shouldent be an issue. He's a pretty dog from the pics iv seen I like all animals big and small so I don't have a problem with her getting it. Iv just told her she better exercise him and Shea promised she will so time will tell. I just wish I wa home to help her an that the dog was younger or had a diffrent name lol his name is hubba.

Why is it you get a German shepherd with pedigree/blood lines. Yet I get accused of being a dog fighter for searching the bloodlines for the pitbull puppy I wanted. Life just ain't fair.

She brought it home today she said it nipped at Noah once when he first got there but it didn't phase Noah on bit she said he loves the dog and won't leave him alone. She said the dog walks on a leash good and wags his tail when ever approached im sure te nip wa probably Noah being a typical 3year old pulling it's tail.
Not sure that your new addition to the pack should be nipping at any of the human members, but hopefully its just a one time thing. As your wife should be the one that controls all of the others in the home (while you're gone), it would be a good thing if she was to learn more about how to read your dog's body language which in turn will give her an idea of what the dog's state of mind is. Many of those lessons can be passed along to your boys as they get older so that they can recognize telltale signs when they meet other dogs in the future. A simple Google search came up with several good links that you may wish to share with her.

We all become better pack leaders when we understand what our dogs are trying to tell us.

We had an awesome pit back when me and te wife dated. It was hers when we dated Her ex got it for her and she kept it it was the nicest dog you would ever meet gorgous dog her name was jade. I had pics of my cocker spaniel at the time walking the pit he would have her collar in his mouth walking her down by the lake. She was killed though when her chain got tangled with another dog well we were away she got tangled and was strangled to death we haven't had a dog sense till now.
This was my girl when I was in college. Her name was Dakita. Homie was a beast of a dog. Friendliest dog youd ever want to meet though.
