Looking to get one for my main jig setup. Which one would be better for just casting and occasionally flipping ? i dont have a boat so i wont do heavy duty flipping.
Looking for local lakes/ponds near Marietta/Roswell/Alpharetta etc...

probably MH would do good
You could go H but make sure you got some flex in the tip..especially if fishing with braid but for other lines to.
I don't think you want a broomstick type H rod

Just pondered the same thing actually, wanted a jig/carolina rig rod and ended up going 7'2MH. We fish rock bottom, little to no weed, so didn't need the backbone of the heavy. Good luck and have fun in your search ;-)

If you are going to be doing more casting the MH will be better, IMO. If you are going to be pitching to heavy cover then get the H.

Depends on the brand too. Kistlers MH's are noodles compaired to St Croix's. A 7' MH St Croix Avid or Legend Tournament (I have one of each) IMHO are perfect all purpose jigs rods. I pitch 1/4 oz jigs with them as well as plunk weed holes with a 1oz jig, and every thing in between.
I am not afraid to suck.
