As far a knots go,id say mine is the arbor knot,I use it on probably EVERY application where I have to secure something...For me its quick,easy to tie and will hold well,and since its a slip knot its adjustable. Anyone else?

I don't have a favorite fishing knot for non-fishing yet, but I'll have to look into it. I use a Bowline knot at work. It's very easy and perfect for doing temporary rigging until I'm able to rig with cable. The bowline is for boating....I guess that's close to fishing. LOL

Loop knots.

There really arent that many that apply unless you work with boats. The problem with most fishing knots is they are next to impossible to untie once tension has been put on them. I use to do tower work and there were only a few knots used. The bowline, the clove hitch or "roling bowline", inline bowline, and a few others here and there. The key was strength, and how easy it is to untie and derig at 200' in the air.

Yep. I work at the climbing tower at a summer camp, and we use the uni to back up the figure 8 knots the kids clip into when climbing. A uni-uni connection is also used to join two ends of utility cord to make a prussik loop, which is used to ascend a rope, or in rescue applications. Climbers usually refer to it as a fisherman's knot instead of calling it a uni, but its the same knot.
