  2. I've accumulated a number of big, hard bodied treble hooked swimbaits. I've never really fished them seriously. When I have, I've thrown them with my flipping rod. Not the best choice. I'd like a rod, 8 ft or so, that can handle 1-4 oz hardbodied treble hooked swimbaits. I'm thinking since they have treble hooks a medium action would be appropriate. Budget: $200 + or - $50. All I'm really coming up with are muskie rods. Thoughts? Thanks.
  3. Well, I was able to recover my old profile. I'm Micro, again
  4. I have two right now, both Colts.
  5. I'm getting the feeling I won't get enough for it so I will probably end up keeping it and just own two boats - eventually.
  6. I'm thinking of selling my boat and upgrading to something fiberglass that I can use in fresh and for light saltwater (redfish and trout). I have no idea what price I should ask. Here's what I have... 2005 Tracker Grizzly 1548 2007 Mercury 15hp 4 stroke with electric start Minn Kota 55lb thrust Power Drive with foot and wired-hand control 3 12 volt batteries 1 onboard charger (not mounted in boat, but could be) rigged for lights Eagle 500C fish finder Trailer with new tires Decked and carpeted So, any ideas what I should ask for it? What would be a good asking price, and what should I settle for? I live in southest Virginia. (NOTE: I am not trying to sell it here, just trying figure out what I should ask. I don't need to sell it so if its value is too low, I'll keep the boat and sell the motor only and replace it with and electric transom drive for out local electric-only lakes) Here's some pics...
  7. I really like the Deps Basarisky. You can pop it, or you can slow retreive it and it walks across the water leaving a nice wake. It sits nicely in the water - nose up at about 45 degrees with its butt underwater.
  8. I agree with the Curado E recommendation. I've had mine for a few years now, used in fresh and brackish water, and they are as smooth and cast as far as they did on day one.
  9. Ended up taking the sope off the carry handle and put it on the flat-top. And added a red-dot to the Colt...
  10. Man, this is an old thread. The Glock 36 that I posted at the front of this thread turned out to be the biggest turd that I have ever owned - ALONG WITH THE GLOCK 30SF I BOUGHT RIGHT AFTER IT. That Glock 36 developed an annoying inability to feed and eject. I was having 2-3 malfunctions per magazine. The Glock 30SF also took a nose dive into the crapper. It developed a failure-to-return to battery issue. I ended up selling both the 36 and the 30SF as well as the 21SF I had. I am now Glock-free. And I forgot all about that Para Ordnance I mentioned. I wish I had that back.
  11. I think if I had it all to do over again, all I'd own are Calcutta Bs. Reels built to last a lifetime. As it stands, I own but one, but it is my favorite.
  12. There's lots of ways that you can rig a Horny Toad. The first is a 5/0 Gammy EWG, the second is a Zoom screw lock hook made for the Horny Toad, the third is a Matzuo 5/0 extra long shank, and the last is an Eagle Claw with a weed guard. My most-used is the first and second because they are most weed resistant. The one with the easiest hookup is the third. The hook point goes up around the end of the body and between the legs and the point is placed in the skin on the back. It gets knocked loose sometimes, but hookups are really easy. The last, with the Eagle Claw, was experimental but it actually works pretty well.
  13. I ended up buying a Sig Sauer M400, and a Colt LE6920MP-R. Haven't even fired them yet. Here's the Colt... I've got a Burris XTS-135 red dot sight waiting to go on it. I'm waiting for the mount to come in. I'm a Burris fan. Here's my Sig M400. I put an ERGO grip on it, and a Burris (another Burris) sight on it, and AR332. I mounted it on the flat top but actually like it better handled mounted. Not sure if I will leave it that way.
  14. A day late for the birthday of the USMC. But since today is Veterans Day, here's my tribute. I took my son to the National Museum of the USMC this summer. Just got my photos uploaded. This is an amaazing Museum and if you are ever near Quantico, Virginia, it's a must-see. Here's my album. 190 photos... http://s1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/RowlandParks/US%20Marine%20Corp%20Museum/
