Trailer tires.
Yes you can extend the shackles. They have been doing it on 4x4s for years. Now keep in mind though that for every inch you add in length to the shackle you'll only gain 1/2 of that in lift. And if you get crazy going longer it will start pushing your axle forward also.

My Boat, My Intro
Well I put her in the water last night. Not a speed boat but she did fine. I have got to work on the weight distribution a little. Not sure if I want to deck it up front now, stability may be an issue. Did I mention that I am a good sized lad? LOL

Well after it sitting here for this long I have a wild hair I guess. I went home at lunch and serviced the lower unit (put the water pump in last night, piece of cake) and dropped it in a barrel of water. She pees like a pro now. It might get put in the water this weekend now.

The width is 48" across the top and 51" at its widest across the transom.

I'll get a measurement for you I'm not real sure. Its in the 45-48" range though. It should push it fine my father in law had it on his small Jon boat and it pushed it great. Its not gonna be a speed boat by any means but it will do fine for me.

My Boat, My Intro
I have just "fished" for what ever would bite most of my life, and have crappie fished quite bit with my father in law. I am wanting to learn. My brother has been bass fishing a lot over the last few years, just hard to ask your "little" (I'm 34 he's 30 LOL) brother for advice. LOL

Why yes I believe it is. Is that a real bad thing? It seems to have weathered quite well considering it has been sitting under a oak tree for the last year and a half. I still don't have all of the paperwork done so that it is legal (waiting on a lost title) but I plan on having it in the water very soon.

My Boat, My Intro
Just wanted to say hey to everyone and introduce myself and my little project. I have what appears to be a Lone Star Commander that I have acquired. The title says Lone Star and lists it as a '65. But the VIN looks like it may have been assigned by the state of Mo. at one point. Its also actually sitting on a Lone Star Ttrailer too. The guy I got it from ( that got it from my father in law) had carpeted part of it and actually started putting a floor in but never really finished it. I am thinking I am going to deck from the front bench forward, once I get it in the water and running. I am putting a new water pump impeller in the 9.8 Merc that I have for it right now and hope to maybe stick it in the water in the next week or so. It needs paint on the outside but that part may wait a little while. The sad fact is it's been sitting in my back yard collecting leaves for about a year and a half now. LOL I got a wild hair and decided that I was ready to fish a little. Its been a while and I have never really bass fished but I am ready to start learning. Anyway thats it in a nut shell now on to the pics.
