I think i get the question as I was going to ask something similar. Why would you choose balsa over cedar or vice versa?

Mate those lures look awesome!! Really like the top water ones. You and Big M are making some awesome lures. I want to get into it however the market is not really setup here in Australia so it will take a bit more fiddle / $$ to get sorted. Hoping to be punching out some topwater baits soon for a trip to Tonga (pacific islands) in April or May and then smaller surface lures and crank baits / spinnerbaits to follow for Aussie Bass. Anyway awesome looking lures guys!! 8-)
