  2. Hello everyone. I would like to educate myself first before buying a rod because I don't want to end up with a piece of junk that will snap at the first minnow I catch with it. Basically, what I would like is a rod, either telescopic, or one made of several parts, that when disassembled comes no longer than 20 inches or so. It is not necessary, it can be 25 if really necessary, but generally, the shorter the better. I would like to be able to just carry it in a normal sized backpack. I was looking at the more expensive option first, the Shimano Exage, but I think that I don't really want to pay That much. Then I found the Shakespeare Ugly Stik Travel Spin 6.6ft Rod. It's about 21 inches in length when disassembled. Though the exage is smaller, it is much more expensive. Basically my question is about inexpensive, rods. Reliable and better yet, with a warranty of a year or something. I was checking out Cabela's IM-6 Telescopic Pack Rods, they seem to be pretty affordable and the 1 year warranty would replace the rods if they did break, but there are just too many reviews on those rods saying how they snap really easily. So I don't know what to choose. A recommendation of an affordable, compact, and durable rod would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.
