  1. Why would you use SI to see what is under the boat? That was the original question, right? Learn how to see your bait, the fish and the fish taking your bait, using the RTS bar. Very useful for deep water fishing.
  2. Z-Bones are built on North Fork Composites blanks. Duckett rods' MSRP is well below the cost of the NFC blank. Neither are in the NFC Registry: http://www.northforkcomposites.com/content/approved-rod-builder-program-registry.
  3. Here it is on a HB unit, the strip to the right. If you can read a flasher, its very similar:
  4. I love the 6" Hudds. Great bait up here.....
  5. Perfect! Mine is similar: Avid AVS66MLF/ Stella 1000FA/ #6 InvisX 8-) I'm probably getting two more copies of that setup, LOL.
  6. Here's a couple, not as big as the others posted here.... Lake Ontario, a little over 4: Lake Ontario, I think it was 4-4, from a long time ago: Lake Ontario, 5-0 Same fish: Lake Erie, 5-12 I'm looking for a six plus now. A seven would be spectacular.
  7. If your unit has RTS, turn it on.
  8. LOL, you arguing over milliseconds? :
  9. The Daiwa Goldcast is unique in that its basically a non counter weighted spinning reel. It has a drag, oscillating spool, and a line roller. It works fine with braid. Its really nothing like a Zebco. A nice reel for kids or guests that don't often fish.
  10. LOL, NYC is its own planet. Bye - Bye.
  11. If I go pro, I want Immodium AD to wrap my boat. That or Tide detergent for their boat bailer/portable jon. ;D ;D ;D
  12. Fixed it for you! A tip: after a trip, set the boxes out open to dry. Never store them wet and cold. Dry them out first. Use the Rustex Capsules in your boxes, too.
  13. A week or so is all it takes. Owner, Daiichi, VMC, Gamakatsu, Mastad, etc. Yamamotos are notoriously bad, especially with jigs.
  14. Its a pity they haven't updated their site since 2007, and half their links on the site are dead. :-?
  15. I use an Avid AVS63MLXF. Saddled with a 2500 CI4 and 6# InvisX.
  16. Internally, there really is nothing made like a Stella.
  17. 10# P-Line CXX seems perfect for topwater.
  18. Here's an article by my friend that will definitely apply to where you fish: http://www.burniehaney.com/files/Cold_Water_Jerkbaits_LOO_Spring_09_.pdf
  19. Nothing. Its called fishing.
  20. Ken Rockwell is joke. A COMPLETE idiot. You do realize his site is satire? Its sad that people take what he says as useful info. Look at http://www.dpreview.com/, http://photography-on-the.net/forum/, or http://photocamel.com/forum/ for real information. Personally, I'd be looking at an Oly waterproof point and shoot or a GoPRo.
  21. I use a Stohlquist Fisherman when kayaking:
