  1. Depending how big the baits are, one of these two will work fine: Avid AVC70MM Avid ANC70MHM If you're really in to ripping traps through weeds, or using super shallow wake baits, then I recommend something faster in action. I use a LTBC70MF, though I am sure a similar spec Avid of Premier would suit that as well.
  2. I think its funny when someone 30 refers to another young man as "son," or demands the respect due to an "old man." LOL, when I was 30, I was at my worst. There is a big, and I mean BIG difference between 30 and closer to 40.
  3. Its not worth the hassle. Small diameter line on spinning, large diameter on casting. Its really that simple.
  4. Alberto knot. http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml
  5. What do you mean, "easier said than done"? Its a toll free call. How do you think the officers know where to patrol? Call the tip line if you see poaching, otherwise you have nothing to complain about. Its simple. Up here we have two or three guys as well. They usually show up within 15-30 minutes.
  6. Overkill. I've dragging a $3000 DSLR around for years using a a small padded compartment from my Domke camera bag inside one of these: http://cascadedesigns.com/sealline/dry-bags/baja-dry-bag/product
  7. Numbers: Sebile Magic Swimmer 165 Fun: MS Mini Slammers at night Quality: Mattlures Hard Gill
  8. You do realize there's a TOLL FREE hotline to report poaching, right? 1-800-TIPP DEC (1-800-847-7332)
  9. Yep, except my fish are bigger.
  10. Rebels Crawfish cranks, deep, shallow, they all catch.
  11. Every once in a while I pick up a copy. Every time its a mistake. Terrible magazine.
  12. Its winter dude, would you rather 30 posts asking how to fish a Senko? ;D ;D ;D ;D
  13. Tomato stakes and a GPS waypoint are what I use to mark them. Where I fish, a bobber would pretty much attract the attention of other anglers. The tomato stake blends in.
  14. Cast net. LOL. ;D ;D ;D
  15. I use search baits to pre fish. They don't have hooks, LOL.
  16. No, but you might learn something new. You bring to the table a stubborn unwillingness to change or try anything new because what you did worked so well. I think if you add a few things, you'll slowly figure out the why's of your success.
  17. I don't actually have a "desperation bait." If I absolutely knew that something would catch a fish, I'd already used it.
  18. I have that rod. In light to medium cover, it should be fine. Pair it with a light weight reel.
  19. I actually wish they didn't either. It would have been great to have that as the record and CA is the only state I know of that has that "hooked inside the mouth" law. I'm pretty sure ALL states have that rule when you are sight fishing for bass, if not add VA to the list NY does not. Only intentionally foul hooked fish are to be released. Trout and salmon are another story, they have to be hooked in the mouth.

Here's what you want, depth contours and all. http://mapper.angling-technologies.com/atom/pmap.php
  21. Put a #4 Duo Loc on 20# Fluoro, and you turn the floater into a slow sinker.
  22. I bring my own reel. All I need to do is make a few pitches to get an idea of what the rod is like.
  23. I string up reels on rods and tie on baits EVERY time I go to Bass Pro. If I'm buying a rod, I'm casting it first. No one has ever stopped me, or acted like I was about to attack the aquarium, LOL. In fact, many say, "Now there's a guy that knows how to pick out a rod." I bet he gets at least a cast off, depending on the athletic ability of the staff. He'll probably also sit in the clink for at least 2 hours.
