Yearly Reel Maintenance.
I recommend Delaware Valley also. Mike treated me very fairly.

X-fast rod and spinnerbaits
Thanks! That's helpful feedback.

X-fast rod and spinnerbaits
Is x-fast the wrong action for fishing a spinnerbait? I'm considering a 6'10MHXF Compre but I want to be able to fish spinnerbaits with whatever I buy.

Reel settings for pitching with a baitcaster
I would like to learn how to pitch baits this summer. I have a 2009 Revo STX I want to use for that. It has the magnetic brakes on it. How do I set the brakes on it and how loose do you set your tension knob. I know when I tried it last time I got one of the worst backlashes I've had. Any help would be appreciated.

Plano KVD tackle bag
That's what I'd like to accomplish. Now I have a tackle box, a smaller tackle bag/cooler and three of the speedbags for plastics. It would be nice to consolidate it into one bag.

Plano KVD tackle bag
I have been considering buying the Plano 4880 KVD tackle bag. What are people who own this bags opinion of them? The one thing I'm wary of is how heavy it might become since its a large bag. I haven't seen a lot of reviews on these so I'm curious if it would be a good purchase or not.

Avid or ???
Which Dobyns Savvy would you recommend?

Avid or ???
I am looking for a new plastics rod. Thinking of a St Croix Avid 6'8 M XF. Any other suggestions to consider at this price point (around $170)? Is an Avid that much better than a Shimano Compre?

Who do you go to for reel repair?
I also would say Delaware tackle. I sent a box of reels to him after a fire and he got them fishing ready for me quickly.

Fire and fishing equipment
PM sent. Thanks!

Fire and fishing equipment
I really only have 4 or 5 worth messing with. I have 1Saros, 1 Symetre, 1Citica, 1 Revo STX, 1 Cabelas Prodigy Baitcasting. My other reels were sub $60 so I doubt it would pay to try to have them repaired.

Fire and fishing equipment
I can give that a try. thanks!

Fire and fishing equipment
Looking for some advice. We had a serious house fire 3 weeks ago. Luckily no one was home. Our garage where all my fishing equipment was got quite a bit of smoke damage. My rods/reels were smoke damaged. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how do you try to salvage your equipment? Unfortunately we were underinsured (Some advice: check your home insurance policy and make sure you have enough personal property coverage!) so I can't replace most of it but if anyone can give me some advice on how to clean my rods and reels I'd really appreciate it. I'm not very mechanical so I cringe at the thought of taking apart my reels! Is there a product that would do a good job cleaning my rods? Thanks for any help!

Soft Plastics Rod Under $100
I fished a Compre 66MH this morning and am happy with it.
