I can't help much on where to fish but I would pick up a pair of polarized sunglasses to see the structure a little bit better.

I don't have very many places to fish but I go to a lake close to where I live most of the time. It is very grassy and has thick cover both submerged and above the water. What kind of lure and what tequnique should I use to catch lunker bass? Any advice and tips will be helpful.

I know what you mean all I have is small retaining ponds also. But, jigs and spinnerbaits work where i live in Georgia. You should probably try them for a while aand see what the results are.
