Hey folks, Thanks for the "advice" I followed the links posted by tpay...they were a great help in my decision making. I did a search prior to posting this thread, but didn't come up with any good results. I am opting for the MK maxxum, 70#, 42". or the MG tour 70#, 45". I was on the border with the electric steering or cable thing, but I have to say, most (99%) say go cable.

I have a crestliner mod v welded aluminum boat, 18'. I have been trying to decide on a electric trolling motor. I want 70# thrust, 24V. but I don't know enough about them to make a good decision. Without money being too much of a problem, (im not rich though) which one is best minkota or motorguide? What type of control is better electric or cable? Any advice would be great.
