  1. Couldn't agree more on the Senkos. The 3" fat Senko in pumpkin w/black and green (wacky rigged) and the 3" fat Ika in green pumpkin w/black are my favorites. In fact I have not tried any other colors. I will be resupplying in the near future and will try at least one other color. Last week I took my daughter and 7 of my nieces and nephews (ages 5 to 17) fishing on the Chemung River. I took some live bait just in case but we had great success with the Senkos and Fat Ikas. Everyone caught at least one smallmouth bass and a couple were of decent size. I took 3 of the older kids out the next day in a different spot on the river and we caught 3 that were over 2 pounds. The biggest one was on the Fat Ika. The kids were really excited about catching the fish on lures. We also used some live crayfish that worked great. I have yet to have much success with any crayfish lure but I have not tried the Yamamoto craws yet. I have included one picture of my daughter and her smallmouth. Looking forward to going again very soon!
  2. Hello all, First time posting here. I have had some great luck lately (last year too) and it has all been in the middle of the day. I fish on the Chemung River in upstate NY and the smallmouth bass fishing can be darn good. Definitely some bigger fish to be found in the Finger Lakes and other rivers but this is very close to home and I can get out on a regular basis. Most of the ones I catch are chunky 12-15 inchers but there are some larger ones. If there is anything better than wading in a river and fishing for smallmouth I haven't found it. Some of the best days have been when it was in the high 90s and the water was quite low. My new favorite lure is a 3" Senko worm(green pumpkin with black) wacky rigged and the 3" Fat Ika is becoming a close second. There were times on 3 different occassions where almost every cast with the 3" worm caught a fish. It works great without any weight but it also worked well in fast water with just a small amount of weight about 18" above it. Looking forward to getting out again....real soon.
