What The Best Bass Fishing Lake In Arkansas?
I mainly fish Greers, but Barnett is a fun little lake if you can avoid the stumps. Quachita can be a blast and is probably the best lake in AR but I haven't figured it out yet. Greers is awesome and insanely aggrevating all at the same time. I love it!

Confidence And Focus
What do you all do to maintain your confidence and focus on the water? I fished the weekend series last year as a co-angler and although I had a couple good tournaments, I realized that maintaining focus was a huge deal. I felt I fished the best in a tournament on my home lake in which my boaters pattern fell apart and we fished my pattern. That wasn't my highest finish, but I felt like I was zoned in all day and never missed a bite. What can we do to increase confidence and focus every outing? I have a hard time in the back of the boat maintaining confidence and focus when my boaters pattern isn't working. I know I would fish 10x better if I could. It's not only when fishing as a co either. I need to focus better when I'm in my own boat and know I'm doing the right thing but not getting bit. As I prepare for the up-coming season I keep coming back to the issue of confidence and focus as the number one thing I could due to improve my fishing. What do you do? Joe

Looking At Sonar Options
Hey guys, Wondering if anyone has this sonar. I have heard of people having some problems with them but most of them sound like set up issues rather than a problem with the unit. I would be putting this on a 16' Grumman Renegade, it currently has two lowrance X67C's on it, this would replace the one on the console. I'm basically looking for something under $700 that will do the most good fishing deep stuff. I also need the gps and ability to take map cards. I like the ability to have both traditional and downscan, and this unit has decent wattage from what I understand. I want the best I can afford and 700 is my max. Also wondering how tough it would be as far as hooking it up, I work on my own truck, atv, ect. so have some mechanical sense but have never installed a sonar and wiring is not my favorite gig. Thanks, Joe

Deep water Mechanics
FBL, That makes sense. I'm using gamy hooks(new and sharp), I don't think equipment is the problem. Slowing down a little and making sure I have contact before setting steel sounds like it could be the issue. Are there any tricks to fighting fish on a C-rig with heavier weights? Having the most trouble with those bites.

Deep water Mechanics
7 ft heavy/fast Falcon lowrider for C-rigs and heavy jigs. Med-heavy/fast 6'6" for lighter jigs. 6' med/fast spinning for shaky heads. Looking for a longer spinning rod. I don't think its equipment, more rod positioning, etc.....

Deep water Mechanics
10-4. 20 lb test PP with 12 lb flourocarbon leader for jigs and C-Rigs. 8# mono for shaky heads.

Deep water Mechanics
I know, another deep water question....lol I'm having some issues with my bite to catch ratio after moving to AR and starting to fish the local lake, which is deep and clear (Greers Ferry). I am getting my bites but not getting them to the boat. Fishing alot of C-rigs, heavy jigs, T-rigs, etc. I'm having trouble maintaining contact after hook set, find myself out of position and unable to pick up slack fast enough, even with high gear ratio reels. Any advice is appreciated! Never had this problem in shallow water, and I'm getting frustrated! Thanks, Joe

Do you hunt?
Mine is deadly with the Federal bulk pack loads (can't recall bullet weight). Haven't seen any on a shelf in over two years. The CCI's I bought last year aren't bad, but nothing like the Federal I used to shoot. I miss being able to buy 550 rounds for $10. >

Used to be able to get em for 9 bucks a box at wally world. Haven't been able to get any for years. All my 22's liked em too. I think the value paks Federal offers now are 500 round soft-point. Don't shoot near as well for me. Oh and HE!! yes I hunt!

grassy flats
If they are chasing bait in there like you say, try a swim-jig. It will come through the grass better than a spinnerbait.

Falcon Lowrider
I have that exact rod. Would buy another with no hesitation. It has plenty of back bone for light pitching/flipping applications. Strong and light. Its not super heavey compared to other heavey action rods, but I like that. Thats a great price.

2010-The Trash is Flying and There's Still No Pennant in Chicago
I love how we finally get rid of "Soup" and than he goes and wins his first game with the cards. Great. Frickin pitchers.

What's the difference between a $50 rod, and a $150 rod?
debatable. I think lt. scrap is saying that just because you pay more for a rod does not mean its better. Some companies make $200 rods which are just as good a another manufactures $250 dollar rod. Makes sense to me.

what would you "do" with BP!
Well said.

Need to find a club in Arkansas
Looking for a club in north central ar, but would drive a ways if thats what I need to do. I'm in greers ferry. Currently a non-boater, but that will change soon! Would be looking for an active club and would like to do more than just tournaments. Just moved to the area. Thanks!
