  1. I bought a spool of sufix elite early last summer. The line held up well on my reel. I have ample left over in the box. My question is, what is the shelf life of this monofilament line. I don't tournament fish but like everyone else, I would hate to lose the "big one" just because I didn't want to cough up eight bucks for a new box of line. However, I hate to waste it if it is still good. Give me your thoughts o wise ones.....
  2. Did some shopping at gander mtn. the other day and about the only rod I could find that was fiberglass was made by american rodsmith, a david fritts cranking series. It definitely has that "fiberglass rod feel" that I keep reading about in the magazines (forgiving, etc.) The only downfall I can think of with the rod was that it was pretty heavy. I am guessing that no matter what fiberglass rod I use that is gonna be the case. Am I right? Can anyone give their opinion on this rod? I am new to bass fishing and want to get the most bang for my buck. This rod was 7 ft, med heavy, 3/8 to 1 & 1/4 oz., 10-30# and was priced at $69. Any input would be appreciated or if there is a fiberglass rod out there that just blows this one away, let me know! thanks,
  3. I fished with the pflueger initially and then went to bass pro and they basically told me that they are the same reel with different armor . . .what sold me was the Johnny Morris reels have a longer warranty and were cheaper.
  4. I am new to this forum and fairly new to bass fishing. I am trying to figure out what would be the best rod to purchase for crankbait fishing. I have been reading everywhere that the pros like to use fiberglass. Almost everything I have seen in the store is graphite. So what are people using. Give me the best options for between $60 and $200. Graphite or fiberglass. . . . or some combination of both or what? I realize there are thousands of opinions on this topic but anything will help. thanks
