oh tay! PENNYSLVANIA GUYS CHECK IN WHO ARE YOU
Hey guys! I'm from North Central Pa. Tioga county more specifically. I fish Cowenesque Lake, Tioga/Hammond Dams, Hills Creek Lake, Mt. Pisgah, Finger Lakes, and my FAVORITE, the mighty Susquehanna near Harrisburg. Always looking for new places to rip on some smallies!

Keuka Smallmouth
The one in the pic is my best smallie out of Keuka. You should've seen the one that came in with her...probably 3-4 inches longer! The only way I have been able to somewhat consistently catch them there is evening topwaters, but usually it only yields 10-12 inchers. Would love to be on the lake around May- June for some spawners! ;D

I stay within a few minutes ride from "the bluff"...Corning Landing, I believe. I have a Triton FS190 w/ 200 merc. Electronics are ok...just stock with added Fish finder up front.

Keuka Smallmouth
Hey guys! I fish keuka Lake (Finger Lakes Region, NY)in July every year for a week straight (rent cottage). I can usually pull a decent 18+" but that's not that good considering the hours I put in there. I've tried EVERYTHING from tubes, cranks, dropshotting, jerks, and topwaters and just cant get anything going. Last year I got a 3lb 10oz , 20.5" on rooster tail and a 19" LM on shakey head but that was about it besides some small bass on top in the evening. If anyone fishes there much mid summer a few pointers would be greatly appreciated

RIVER Smallie Thread
I'm almost positive there are shad, but I've never used a bait on the susq that actually mimicked a shad specifically. All the jerkbaits were rogues, lucky-craft, yo-zuri, or something similar to that...nothing with a fat body like a shad. Summer is when I've had the best success with the jerkbait on the river...all in "natural" colors and small sizes.

RIVER Smallie Thread
Smallieking, I've caught them on rogues, various color tubes, senkos and "little beavers" with great success. I've seen guys do well with jig n pig and spinnerbaits although there weren't good numbers, just a few real good fish. It should be a blast. I know I can't wait!

RIVER Smallie Thread
I live in upstate Pa, but once or twice a year travel to Harrisburg to fish the Susquehanna...it's my absolute favorite place to fish, period. My best trip down was last spring. The water was a bit high and stained and bass were transitional...some moved up in the grass on beds others scattered about. The bites were few and far between. We later moved up a tributary where the water was clear and 95% of the bass were on beds and VERY willing to bite our 1/8oz. watermelon tubes. We caught at least 30 a piece at the end of the day with four 4lbers and a 5lber and the average was 16". I had the time of my life and I hope to do the same here in a month or two when I make another trip down.

Favorite line for pitching?
Stained is what most the the waters I'd be pitching in would be considered....I liked what I read about Spiderwire Ultracast, and Stealth would be a close second as far as reviews go. I fish the Finger Lakes quite a bit, but thats where the 8lb sufix and 1/8oz tube shine! Thanks for the help guys!

Favorite line for pitching?
Just getting into this aspect of bass fishing. 95% of the bass I caught last year were caught on tubes w/ 8lb sufix...so I could use some opinions on the best line for pitching. I like the thought of 30lb braid, but seems like bass would see it a mile away. Just ordered a 7'H B&R Outlaw rod and I'm going to match it with my energy xm pt baitcaster for this application. Might throw a few muskie bucktails as well. But I'm looking forward to using the jig n pig this summer! Thanks!
