Hi guys. This is my first post here and any help would be excellent. Here's the deal:
I recently bought a 30 lb. thrust Minn Kota Endura for a little pond boat I purchased for fishing small rivers and some of the ponds around here. Of course when I opened the box I found the little tag recommending that I buy a 60 amp circuit breaker to use with this motor. Since the command came in writing I bought this $40 piece of equipment and only then realized that a 60 amp breaker and 6 gauge wire for a 30 pound thrust motor might just be major overkill.
What do you think? Is that too much? I know it's what Minn Kota recommends but what they recommend and what will actually work may very well be two different things.
If you do think that's too much would you recommend the correct size circuit breaker and size of wire for a 30 pound thrust trolling motor?
Thanks guys.
