  1. Feels like Feb, we got 7" of snow on April 1. On the plus side we need the precip.
  2. I'm just north of you in Rice Lake. I fish mostly around my home area (within 60 miles) with a few trips further out. Almost drove down your way this winter for some ice fishing. Still a couple feet of ice on the lakes up here, it's been a very looong winter.
  3. Never leave home without a bag of our Venison Jerky and snack stix. Bananas, oranges, nuts, sometimes a sammich. Water and iced tea. My dog fishes with me alot so I take a break while she enjoys the water and cools off. Oh, and she always likes a snack.
  4. We don't target bass thru the ice, but you can and will catch them on tip ups with shiners. They will bite lighter then a northernor walleye. You can catch them jigging for crappies and perch as well. We still have 24+ inches of ice up here in Wisconsin. Some of the boat landings are rough but there are still lots of trucks on the ice yet.
  5. Just signed up to the forums, thought I would introduce myself. I fish Bass and Musky here in Wisconsin. I recently returned to the west side of Wisconsin (Indianhead Country) and thought I would do some research on who and what is out there. Hoping to get back into some local tournament fishing in the area. It's been quite a few years since I have had the time to fish any tournaments, besides the Ice Fishing Tournaments which I like to call "Combat Fishing" I fish out of a Tuffy Marauder 17'8" tiller. Big fan of Minn Kota and Humminbird. This year my boat gets a interior facelift. (This will be the second Marauder I have gutted and rebuilt to match the new model Tuffy.) I know, I know it's not a huge HP Bass boat, But it's my basketball court on the water. I build my own bucktails and spinnerbaits to keep busy when it's way too cold to get out on the ice. Still use St Croix Rods, Abu Garcia 6500 and 7000's. Shimano baitcasters and spinning reels. Just can't get away from what I know. Well, there seems to be a lack of Bass Clubs in the area, on the off chance anyone here happens to be local to me drop me a line. It would be nice to meet some people in the area that like to get out on the water. I spent last summer fishing solo. Looks like that's a lot more than anyone cares to read. :-X Lots of great info here thanks for a great forum.
