  1. i sell mine through my website and word of mouth. i have been working on a bunch of baits that i am taking to a flea market on the labor day weekend. it is a huge flea market held twice a year here in the northwest. thousands of people attend over the weekend. google packwood flea market. cost me $100 for a space to set up by tables to display lures and also space to pitch my tent. should be a lot of fun, hopefully will sell enough to cover my costs.
  2. actually starting on a snake next, will post a pic and video when it is done. any suggestions as to paint scheme ( no water snakes up here)?
  3. finished the paint job. decided to go with a green scheme mostly because i like green.
  4. haven't painted this one yet. white shows up good in the water, may just do it in a pearl finish. maybe green with a white belly, any suggestions?
  5. here's a couple pics i have posted on my website ( which happens to be down until next week sometime. the guy hosting it is moving and hasn't got things up and running yet.).
  6. just finished this up yesterday. 8" end to end, slow sinking and nice action with a slow or moderate retrieve. it's on its way to a guy who plans on using it in a tournament this weekend. i hope it arrives in time.

got bored with doing the usual fish , was watching something on tv about aligators and thought i'd give this a try. doing the paint was the tough part. googled baby gators and this pattern seemed to be the most common.
  8. here is the largemouth pattern i typically do plus some rainbows.

don't know if bass ( or anything else)will eat baby alligators. thought to try to make something out of the usual. 7", nice wake action with the tail swimming real nice!
  10. both baits were 7" long and approx. 5 oz.
  11. made the scales with a small flat tip screwdriver. just pressed it into the pvc and made a diamond shape and then repeat.
  12. i don't use a wheel. i hang the bait from the line tie and don't put on too thick of a coat of epoxy. i put on one thin coat, let cure overnight, sand with 400 grit and apply a second coat. have had no problems with this method.
  13. i actually made a floater last year that was a perch pattern for a guy but i must not have taken a pic of it, can't find it in my file. it floated on it's side with the head and tail hanging down . looked good but never heard if he had tried it. the flounder was a special request. sinker because they are a bottom fish.
  14. the result of having too much time on your hands :
  15. southeastern wash. state--kennewick
  16. the joints are a through wire s.s. skelton. here's a negative pic to highlight the wire system. since this picture i modified the line tie to connect to the first hook hanger putting the stress directly on the line tie point. the bass is 100% hand painted. the carp is tissue transfer on the sides but the back, belly and most of the head in front of the gill is hand painted.
  17. ok, it's not a bass but you have to start somewhere even if it's only a 18" trout. he's 4 in the picture, figured the fish was older than him! ;D ;D. released
  18. here's a couple more i just finished largemouth bass, 6", s.s. carp, 6", s.s. ( came out a little darker than i planned but swims great.)
  19. tried out a variation on the pec fins to get a more lifelike appearance to the lure. sorry about the background noise, wind was blowing and got picked up in the soundtrack.
  20. not new, been aruond for a long time in eastern wa. state. just wanted to say hi. more time to fish these days though. kids moved out ;D, wife left ;D, dog ran off
  21. think i'll check out a different prop first, a lot cheaper than a new motor. tried 2 different batteries with equal results.
  22. i go regardless of the luner phases. nice just to get away from all the stress from dealing with the public all day.
  23. my trolling motor is a motorguide 54 lb. thrust but even on high speed does not move the boat ( 17' )very well. the 3 blade prop looks kind of small but was on the boat when i got it. thinking of changing over to a minnkota. any suggestions on size?
  24. washington lakes is also the only place i have found for maps. you might try Google Earth for areial images to check out lakes before you go. i get a pretty good idea of the layout from this
  25. learned the hard way. lost my favorite crankbait due to the knot breaking.
