What Would You Do?
Zen has it it right, throw worms and look for run off area's, that said I would also have a crank or spinner at the ready.

What Does Bass Fishing Do For You?
I love to fish, to me it is a relaxing, stress relieving activity. There is nothing like watching the sun come up over the trees, a dozen or so geese taking flight and a tight line.

Your Best Lure So Far This Year....
Best lure by far this year has been the Rapala DT4 Baby Bass.

How Would You Classify Yourself?
Had to pick Junk, I will throw anything if it catches fish, even made my own bottle cap lures just to see if I could catch something with them.

Fishing Thick Grass
Good info on this topic so far one thing I may add especially if the grass is at the surface is a frog or rat top water lure.

Any goals or "resolutions" for this season?
After looking at how many fish and on what lures I caught them on last year. I most definitely need to start using different types of lures. 80% of my bass were caught on plastics. I use fish swami to keep track of days on the water. It has really helped me over the past year. As far as goals of course I want to beat my personal best of 8lbs 15oz. but I really want to get better with jigs, cranks, and top water this year.

Dilemma
After looking this up online I found that it would take about a 30 watt solar panel approximately 2 days to charge a 55 to 75 ah 12 volt battery. Depending upon sunlight of course. This will run me about $300.00. I will have to think about this, maybe once the wife gets a job.

Dilemma
I think I will look into the solar charger. I use to haul it back and forth but had a heart attack a while back so I think the solar charge will work. I just need to figure out how long it would take to recharge. Thanks everyone for your ideas.

Dilemma
Maybe some of you have had this problem. I live on a small lake about 45 acres and my jon boat is around 200 yards away and thirty to forty feet lower than my house. I do not have electric at the lake so I need to hall my battery back and forth. The terrain is rough so I can not use a cart. I am looking for something to use to carry the battery and maybe the rest of my gear, poles, and tackle bag. I also rigged a piranha fish finder to be portable and would like to bring it back and forth. I thought that maybe a large duffel bag would work for the tackle bag, fish finder and battery. Then I could use one of those pole holders for the poles. Any thoughts out there?

Beneficial article on an oftenly overlooked method...
Great article, I love to fish with artificial baits when it comes to bass. But at least three or four times a year I fish for bluegills and use them on a ultralight set up with a slip bobber. The lake I fish has a great number of half to one pound gills. We actually have a problem with the size of the gills in the lake because they are also predators competing with the bass.

Tackle bags , boxes or your own thing...
I have a canvas bag very similar to the one above. I put my plastics on both side pockets and terminal tackle in the front pocket with my tools (pliers, scissors etc.) there is a back compartment where I put my scale. In the main compartment is where I use those plastic boxes to put my cranks, jigs, top waters and so forth. I also use one of those soft CD holders for my spinnerbaits, cheap and very easy to thumb thru to get what I want. This setup works very good for me. I got it as a free throw in with a rod and reel I bought about three years ago.
-
Your most versatile lure/technique?
I carry three rods, with a jig, soft plastic and either a spinnerbait or crankbait. When I am covering a lot of water I use a spinnerbait in the morning and evenings, and a crankbait in between. The plastic and jig are used when I find structure or cover and slow down and work an area.

How have you progressed this year?
Did good this year moved my personal best for LM from 3lbs to 8lbs 12oz. Caught this with a baitcaster on a crank and lost two good ones on jigs. This was the first year I used a baitcaster and jigs. Real with how I am fishing with the baitcaster so far. Still need work on the jigs though.

How many days a week do you fish
1 - 2 days a week, sometimes 3 days.

overpopulation of small bass
I agree with rose angler the larger the fish the gamier. Also the larger fish will hold more mercury in the fatty portion of the meat.

Bluegills Drive us Crazy
When I lived in Chicago I had a small lake I fished that had a lot of small bluegills. We fished early am and late evening for bass (the bluegills were less likely to bother us) and mid day for the gills. Bluegills are mighty fine eaten. We also would use minnows from time to time.

Shades of Bass
I just heard this on one of the fishing shows I watch. I think it was KVD who said it.

best/funniest fishing saying
As a kid we vacationed in Mich. I was fishing with the kid in the next cabin all week. We would go to town and buy worms each night for the following days fishing. One day not sure which one we were having a tough time catching any fish. The kid I was with picked up the container of worms and then told me why we were not catching any fish. He replied that yesterday we were using large curd and today we have small curd... The worms were in cottage cheese containers. I will never forget it.

What am I doing wrong??? The fishing gods don't like me!!!!
When on the lakes do you see anyone else catching anything? I would ask around and find out what is good to throw in your neck of the woods. do you have a depth finder? I picked up a real cheap one and it has help me locate spots to fish. Anyway hope your luck changes.
