  1. Berkley Digital Lig Grip works great powers down when not in use saves battery nice feature I think.
  2. Walmarts and Dicks Sporting Goods also carry them bigger selection all so. Online Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas or try the online store on this Forum they may have them.
  3. Heddon Spook Jr., Baby Lucky 13 Popper also like Jitter Bugs.
  4. They say you can go up or down one hook size without changing the action of the lure. The other thing you my want to check is to make sure your hooks are razor sharp. You should be able to draw the hook over your thumb nail with no pressure on it the hook should bite into your nail. If the hook just slides down your nail its dull and needs to be sharpened. I have bought new hooks Im talking Gamakatsu and Owner here and out of the pack only one or two hooks would bite into my nail with out being sharpened. So don't think just because there new there sharp. May be the reason for a low hook up rate. JMHO
  5. How will the Falcon Cara T7 Rods stack up to say Shimano Crucial or St. Croix Avid or Premier Series. All Around Rod Use 6' 6" Trigger / Caster type Med. Action Fast Tip 1/4oz to 5/8oz Lures All input wecome but looking for people that have or have used Falcon Cara T7 Rods. I know no one that has one. :-/

  7. I am looking for honest opinions between this two products. Please give Model number of reel. Thanks
  8. I used KVD L&L on all my reels as per R. W. instructions did not notice a big improvement in casting distance my be a yard or so but Big improvement in line manageability line lays much flatter on the spool plus is much softer to the touch. I think well worth the money and time :) :)
  9. Hi all can any I give any info on a Quantum B/C reel / Round type Model PR600CX six bearings ACS Brake on crank side written Professional? I think it is a older reel looks in good shape very smooth when you turn it. Looking for price when it was new is it a good reel or not?
  10. Thanks All for your feed back. I'm going to BPS this week end I'm going to get it and give it a shot. :)
  11. I have read the five page post by Castamasta on how great this stuff is. I all most want to think all you guys must have stock in the company. Most of you say to just spray it on your reel and let it stay over night. I find it hard to beleive that it will penetrate all the loops on the spool in order to be effective. Could some one who has used it explain this . Thanks
  12. Man I was going to BPS this week end with a friend because he wanted to buy this reel I will be sure to give him the heads up on this one THANKS. Thanks Fishing friend for the post
  13. How are they on returns and do they stand behind the service?
  14. When using braided line should you use the max rating for line thats on your rod or the Eq. Dia. for mono that the braid is equal to? ie: 50lb. braid is egual to 12lb. mono. Now if my rod is rated for 10-20lb test and I put 50lb. braid on it I am running a good chance of snapping it yes . All input wecome :-? :-? :-?
  15. Glad to hear that I'm new to bait casters myself so I know your pain. What weight lure are you using ,whats your set up and how far are you casting?
  16. Lao162 thanks for the input. Ever thing comes in to play and I too am a big believer in form, whether it's a rod and reel, bow and arrow or gun and ammo. Matched equipment and form and practice matter big time; that's why I joined this forum. Input from people matters to me. I spent a lot of money and time teaching myself how to do things shooting, reloading, archery, huntin and now fishing because I had no mentor, so everyone's input matters to me. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Walking Horse
  17. Catt I'm also a bow hunter and shooter so I have good eye hand coordination I guess.
  18. cart 7t I have other rod B/C with all most the same reel set up on it and I'm with in 2 to five yds. using that rod and reel. The rod is a M/H (10 -20 lbs) but a mod tip. that rod shows the lure wt. 1/4 to 1oz. My form is elbow at side reel handle facing up 12 to 16" of line hanging from rod tip and a smooth release with a wrist snap. I am not a expert on rods but I think the margin is pretty close on both rods to matter.
  19. Thanks kms399 for your info I have a bad thumb joints are fused not to much flex in it. But I don't give up to easy. I will keep you posted on my progress
  20. Thanks all ways room for improvment and never to old to learn. ;D
  21. Hello everyone am new to this forum and to using a bait caster rig so I have a question. I am casting 30 to 35yds. with a 3/8oz. and 18 to 20yds with 1/4oz lure on average. My rig is a Cabelas Prodigy reel made by Daiwa(nice reel)with braid spooled (Sufix 20lb. test) brake set at #2 and free spool set to drop from eye level to 1/2 a loop on spool when lure hits floor. Rod is a Shimano Compre 6' 10" MH(10 - 20 lbs) extra fast tip. I know everyone has a different skill level but I can not find any thing to us as a rule of thumb on what a good distance is on casting. I am pretty good at hit a mark I am looking for a cast to cover a lot of water. I have heard the fishing story's about 65 to 75yds. with a 1/4oz. Looking forward to hearing from so honest fisher man or woman on this subject.
