  1. I have a tournament coming up on the lower potomac. Ive never fished the potomac that far down and i'm not sure what to expect. Any tips on what the fish will be doing at the end of the month or what baits work would be appreciated. thanks
  2. hey billy bob, what did you mean by "you'll burn out your external any closer to the unit". I ask because i have a lowrance 320c, after i installed it the gps worked one time and then quit and hasn't worked since. The gps antenna is about two feet from the unit.
  3. Thanks for all the help. My previous trolling motor was a 12/24 volt and when i installed the new trolling motor (24volt) I used the same wires that i had on my old one. I had two positive wires going to the trolling motor and after reading all the posts about needing a bigger fuse I remembered that i had another fuse that i hadn't checked. sure enough that was the problem. Kinda feel like an idiot, but i'm glad it was just a fuse and not my trolling motor.
  4. It worked fine for over a year with a 20amp fuse but after i started blowing them i tried a 25 amp fuse. It worked for about twenty seconds longer with the bigger fuse, but still blew it.
  5. I have a 24 volt motorguide pro 70 trolling motor. It has five speed settings. Every time i turn it on high it blows a fuse. one through four works fine. the only thing i could think of would be a partial short in the rotary speed switch. Just wondering if anyone could confirm this or had any other possible solutions. thanks.
  6. hey i forgot, if you stop in at the rocky gap office (building on the right about half mile before launch ramp) they will give you a map of the lake with the depth contours. It can be helpful.
  7. turn 4, rocky gap is really clear, it has a lot of weeds. I just started fishing it last year. I've had the best luck on jigs and senkos, i've had a lot of people tell me tubes fished really slow work well towards the dam end. 70-80' is the deepest water. i'm interested in fishing tournaments there too, let me know if you find any.
  8. Thanks for all the info guys. I found the open tournaments on the pa bass website, but couldn't find exact meeting places, times or entry fee's. Any more info would be appreciated.
  9. i'm sold on the square billed shallow cranks. Bomber deep flat A worked real slow for the deeper water.
  10. Yeah, there's something up with that lake. Last year i saw lots of dead fish floating. Not sure whats killing them though.
  11. Does anyone know of any open tournaments on raystown?
  12. I'm glad to see the water coming back up. I couldn't catch a fish there last year to save my life. It seemed like the only place you could consistantly catch fish was at the upper end, but that end gets too crowded for me during tourny's. hopefully the bite will pick back up at the lower end now that the water is coming up. Whats up with the Shawnee tournaments? Are there going to be any this year?
  13. does anyone know what the weight was that won the tournament at raystown? It was two or three weeks ago i think.
  14. Sat. was a good day to be a fisherman. Caught 5 smallies, biggest was 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. and 4 largemouth, biggest was around 3 lbs. My buddy caught 3 and lost a big largemouth. Don't get many days like that on raystown.
