  1. Was it the 2 pc. mold? I think I read the same article as you, how did they turn out?
  2. Don't send it down here, knowin me i'd lose the stinkin thing. :-[ Then what would we do?
  3. Listen to my fellow sooner fan. Meteorologist+Oklahoma= Listen to the man when he speaks!! I've actually had a close call myself. Lightining struck about 20 yards away from me( hit a tree and I measured the distance the next day) I'm very lucky, because lightning could have easily jumped from that tree to me. Now I just carry a simple garbage bag with me. Put your gear and rods in the bag(reel first) and run to your truck, cabin whatever if it's in running distance. Otherwise lay low. There's now way i'm running with a lightining rod in my hands in a TS, even if it's a lond distance away, If i hear thunder I get outa there.
  4. Gotta adore rick clunn and with him goes GMAN and Aaron martens
  5. I don't want to fish anywhere where my bait has the potential to come back in two pieces.
  6. El Salto. (is that how you say it?)
  7. I have two lower end rods, one with a cork handle and one with that black crap. The one with the cork is broke. Is there any way to replace the black handle with the cork?
  8. Shore fishing is without hassel, but you can't do everything you do from a boat on a bank and you can do everything from a boat better than you can do from bank
  9. with 50lb braid, you don't have to worry about er breaking off, you do have to worry about here coming off the hook. Keep constant pressure on her. And remember, the fish is smarter than the angler most of the time.
  10. Congrats and keep it up!
  11. Ben, I'm new to this forum and have not really noticed your posts. However, by the way others speak of you, you are a valuable member of BR. Please come back, it will benifit everyone. :'(
  12. Don't be hard on yourself, the fish work in mysterious ways Glad you're O.K.
  13. W E L C O M E ! ! ! ! !
  14. Getting hooks caught in clothing, people crossing your lines... People using my stuff without my permission and loosing it >
  15. The weirdest way I almost caught a bass : Me and a couple of my friends were fishing a small pond for bluegill (didn't even know it held bass) well I hooked a blue and right before I picked it out of a water a 2-3# came up and almost snatched the blue. This scared the crap out of me. That was also the largest panfish I have ever caught.
  16. Just have fun and the fish will come. Remember: Slackers catch fish
  17. Turtles are probably your problem. If they are, sooner or later you'll hook one. My case was with crankbait. All three trebles! Make sure you have a pair of pliers.
  18. How hot was it? When the temps rise, the bass move a little deeper out
  19. I'm glad to see someone trying to help out learning angler's like myself. As much as I and everyone else wants more tackle, you should in my opinion, give it to someone who needs equipment. There are some people who can't afford things like this, and it would mean the world to them. Good luck.
  20. Well, like everybody else said, it's all about confidence. However when I make that perfect cast, I seem to work the bait better, Unlike when you make a sorry cast and you just want to hurry up, reel it in and make a better one. When I make that perfect cast, which is right in the middle of those weeds, ect. you just gotta feelin that that's the one.
  21. I guess i'll have to teach em' the rules this morning
  22. See, this is the weird part. Right after I arrived there, one of my friends was using a white, very small(1in. or less) for bream and crappie. then we started catching bass with those things. What gives? Later in the day we didn't catch anything with those things or anything else for that matter.
  23. Recently I discovered a pond near my house(which excited me because before that I had to travel 20-25 miles to find a decent bass spot), and near noon when it was 90+ degrees, caught a numerous amount of fish. However after nooon around 1-2 oclock, Nothing was rising. This water is dirty, not just muddy. It's got debris and a lot of other things floating in it. Do i need to be using shiny noticeable and bright colored baits? Any suggestions? Thanks
