  1. Yeah, in summer it's fine, I have no problem with it. Only when the sun is out in spring. Once it's gone they start hitting again.
  2. Hey, I fish a real weedy lake. I use a slower retrieve usually. I live right above Madison, near the south of the state. They spawn in about a month. I do good there when it's overcast, but right when the sun hits 'em they're gone. Jim
  3. Hi all. I have this "dead" lake I live next to. People never get anything outta it, except me. I use a spinnerbait (black) and I pull bass and northern out of there all the time. Problem is during spring I can never get a bite when it's sunny. But when it's cloudy and rainy I can get them like every other cast. During the summer it doesn't matter what weather we have I still get them, it's only spring I can't. I tried jigs, buzzbaits, cranks, spinnerbaits, plastic worms, and even real worms but nothing seems to work. I thought bass were susposed to come in to shore when it's sunny to sun themselves and get ready for mating, but I never even see one. Any reason why this is? :-/
  4. I'd say the dark spinnerbaits are your best bet. A few days ago I went to a dam and slayed the bass on a dark colored jig. Got about 40 in one day. I then went the next day and tried a black spinnerbait and got nearly double the results! And... I went to a lake near my house and I tried out the jig. I got nothing. No sooner I put the same spinnerbait on I connected with some bass. It was dark muddy water and pretty windy.
