Is there a reason than no-one uses Livingston style boats to put decks on? I have a really small one 7' that is very stable with two people standing up and fishing out of. I am now looking for a 14' boat to do a small bass boat project with and I am having a hard time finding a jon boat in my area. In WA everyone wants so much money for small aluminum boats I looked in other states on craigslist and they are all over and a lot cheaper.

My girlfriend and I would like to make a bass boat our of a jon boat. I have been looking at a lot of pictures to get ideas. I ran across this website that sells a book on how to make a jon boat into a bass boat and I just wanted to know if anyone has used it and if it was very helpful? I can't post links because I'm new but the website is very easy to find if you just type in jon boat to bass boat in a search engine. Thanks, Brian
