  1. Thanks for the info, warmer. That is a very tempting offer for the fishing. Heck I'll pay for the Gas if your willing to take me along for the trip 8-) I'll get in touch nearer the time, we have a PC in the villa so I have access to the forum while I'm visiting. I'll be over from 4th July for 3 weeks. Cheers. John
  2. Thanks for all the recommendations guys, I'll try them and let you know how I got on. buckifan08 - what are beetle spins? Any pics I can use for reference? I searched Walmart site and couldn't see anything. If I know what they look like I will get some. Thanks again. John
  3. Thanks for the reply Bassn Blvd. I assume I can pick up those or similar worms at Walmart or Bass Pro Shop. As for the weather, I'm looking forward to it....have you not heard how much of a raw deal we get with the British weather But seriously I know what you are saying. Now I'm to see what a June bug looks like ;D John
  4. Hi guys, Just wanted to say hi and ask a couple of questions if you would be kind enough. I'm visiting Orlando in July and staying for 3 weeks at Thousand Oaks, near Davenport. We have a small lake next to the villa and I was planning on some fishing. I plan on buying an inflatable boat for some of the smaller lakes, just to get out a bit from the shoreline. I fly fish regularly here in Scotland UK for Brown and rainbow trout and fish for Cod etc when we go seafishing. This bass fishing is all new to me and I was wondering if you chaps could give me some pointers. I'm not after record breaking bass but you never know ;D all I want is to spend some quiet time and be able to catch something to keep me occupied. I know catching fish can't be guaranteed but what lures, worms, baits etc. would you suggest to a novice so that he would have a good chance of catching something and not loosing interest? I don't mind catching small fish all day if i get a good fight 8-) See you in 39 days John
