What year and up should I be looking for? Should I wait and save up some more money?

Ok, very true! Honestly, I am a college student looking to get a first boat. I have $3000 saved up as of now, and still going. What type of boat should I be looking at? I am going to want to be able to fish some team tournaments with it, here and there...and to do some pre-fishing. Any ideas? I live in CA, Bay Area.

Ive never put anything other than braid on my bait casters, and i heard that casting with other line is completely different. Any tips for me? Is it really that different?

What size line should i use and what kind, mono or flouro or hybrid. Thanks.

Im a largemouth fisherman and have my baitcasters rigged with 50 and 65lb powerpro, and 2 spinner reels setup with 6lb flouro and 1 spinning reel with 8lb mono/gama, and one ultralight with 4lb test. I was wondering if this was a good set to take with me on this trip? Ill be doing some rainbow trout fishing, cuttthroat trout fishing, musky fishing and bass fishing mainly. Which setup would i use for these types of fish..Braid for Musky/bass. etc..........6another sitelouro for..... Also am i gona need the braided line or should i string up something smaller on it for the smallmouth. As you can see i have never gone smallmouth fishing and dont know the diff between the two. The water level has dropped atleast 15ft and now there are weeds from shore to 40ft. out. I am a shore fisherman and looking for tips on how to fish light cover. There are just alot of weeds,i threw a frog, and a spinner bait but i had a hard tome ripping the spinner bait through there. What else do you guys suggest,im going to head out there ina few hours. thanks.

I bought three the other day and have noticed that they all fill up with water. I feel like every cast im squeezing the water out so my frog can float. anyone else have this problem? Can i return em? The designs on them look great tho.

Been going out the last four days and have had no luck. I throw a frog 50% of the time and have missed a few fish. Ive thrown out fat ikas too, also a jig w/ a trailer on it w/ beads. The lake i fish has some spots that have heavy vegetation and also some spots where there is none. Where would you fish and what would you throw. I usually go out from 8-midnight. Thanks.

I will be going to school up there next year and am wondering if there is any bass fishing up there. I know there are some great bass shops down there but havnt heard much about bass fishing up there. thanks.

I have one reel w/ 30# power pro for pretty much everything, another with 50# for frogging and spinner baits through tough cover and am debating what to put on my new reel? I want something light but now to light. What do you guys suggest, and what size line do you guys have on your setups.

I had the same problem at first with braided line, you just need to get used to it. Ever since i got used to it, all i use is braided line, its the best. Did you put backing on it? I know sometimes the braided line slips around if there isnt any on there.
