Night vs. day fishing
C'mon,. A cold water, New England 5-6 is equal to what size fish in your balmy, bath water? Had 7 over 4 lbs last night, the day I don't think that's phenomenal,I'm done, lol

What do You Do Different..?
If your goal is to catch only big ones, it's simple. Throw baits the little ones can't eat. Wake baits are a slow, trackable, topwater. Perfect for big bass to track and easy on you during retrieve. Working Girl wake bait fish from as recent as last night

Jitterbug help!
Slow it down Steady retrieve, barely gurgle it Like Muddy said, ok to switch out hooks but only if you match weights.

north korea
Just say "Hey, I didn't order anything from N Korea, I'm not signing for this" and send it back. *Mod Note* So far, so good guys but don't let this go down a political path

Night vs. day fishing
It's not like the fish hits it faster or harder because it's dark out but when you fish the night consistently, hearing and feel are the 2 most heightened senses, vision takes a back seat. Remove vision, the easiest sense to use, and you tune in to the strike with heightened awareness. A strike feels more violent when you are completely engrossed in your retrieve. A couple from last nights smackdown.

Read about this trick and wanna know if anyone's tried it...
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish.... More spawning area? More bottom cover? A baited area? For more spawning area, the bottom make up is much more important, also the location in relativity to deeper water. Adding the caged minnows to a mud flat will not result in more spawning area. personally, I'd spend my efforts finding and learning the areas they are already using with success For more bottom cover, there are lots of NATURAL things you can add to an area like trees and rock. Many artificial things are used also but those who don't fish just view it as trash in their lake. Careful As for a baited area, go with Tin's suggestion. Attract the bluegill w/ bread, save your money. Bass won't congregate around food they cannot get.

New World Record Bass caught in Japan
Folks, please post comments regarding the new WR on the original thread, thanks. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1246550562/0#0

NEW world record bass caught lake biawa, japan!!!
Mentioned Japan in the June 1st Giant bass thread, it kinda got lost in all the BS about the Perry bass. Tom Never, wrong! What happened to the insight about Scott protecting the record, that was posted? I was just about to take issue what that! Can you imagine,, this fish wasn't from California, what a shame :-? It was originally,...it just took a really. trally, really long swim before it let itself get caught

Show Me The Money! (your home lake)
Whoa, whoa, whoa,...lol We have different sections for each of those things. There is a "show your ride" sticky in the boating section, you post your videos in "my tournament or outing, etc etc Seeing as how this has taken a "show your home lake" feel to it, let's let it go in that direction, but for the individual things, please use the appropriate boards. My home lake is featured in just about every video I've made. Link is in my sig

If you could go back in time...
I get your question bud. If I could go back to the learning days, not that those could ever be over, and change 1 thing, I would fish slower. I was always told to "slow it down" and I would nod,........and I would try,.......but "patience" always escaped me on that level. SLOW IT DOWN

Whats up with all the dead gar??
They are probably getting them with rope, much easier than a hook

Whats Gone Wrong?
Rhino, I know where you are coming from but I think in time you'll see that one of the biggest reasons this board runs so smoothly is because we have a large % of senior members. These are people we have seen help/guide/straighten out members for us repeatedly. This particular membership makes this particular mods job alot easier and allows us to focus on other things. Another reason is because we are so adamant that people READ THE RULES before posting. Yes, it is our job to do these functions but if the membership or a quick "read me" can cut that work in 1/2, all the better

Whats Gone Wrong?
I don't think Branuss was being mean, he's just saying, this is a forum board with 20,000 members who are,....for the most part......, allowed to voice their opinions. You need to have a certain thickness to your skin if you are going to participate because you won't always agree with everyone and everyone won't always agree with you.

Do You Think Catching a Big Bass is Luck?
You could always hit 'em with the motor Muddy!! Bass Wrangler has touched on something that brings alot of the grey area into focus. In the beginning there is more luck involved. As you gain experience, the luck/skill see saw starts to level out and eventually leans towards the side of skill. (provided the angler is challenging himself and encouraging new growth/diversity) Then there's the definition of skill. There are more variables,......does the angler only catch the bigguns on the lake he's fished for 25 yrs? (cough, me,cough) or can he catch with consistency from coast to coast? I can do well anywhere in New England (my lake is so nice because it has just about every feature found in NE lakes, all in 1 spot), but put me in California and I'm catching the same fish 85% of the general public can catch.
